Red Sea Conservation Liveaboard

Following the huge success of May’s Conservation Liveaboard and on popular demand, the CCC Society has organised a second Mini Expedition to the Red Sea.
Dates:11-18 November 2005
Location:Marsa Alam, Southern Egypt- Fury Shoals Reef System, Abu Dabab, Samadai (Dolphin House) and Elphinstone
Objectives: extend experience of the Red Sea by diving the southern reefs; improve understanding of coral reef ecosystem conservation issues; assist CCC in assessing the prospects for a permanent expedition site in the Red Sea; acquire digital imagery as a resource for CCC; extend the schools’ link established during the first mini expedition.
The expedition will include lectures on reef ecosystem conservation and instruction will be given to buddy pairs and groups during dives to illustrate points that have arisen during the lectures. There will be opportunities for discussions of conservation and biodiversity issues and identification of species recorded by digital photography.
What’s included: flights, transfers, full liveaboard catering including soft drinks, air and weights, conservation science documentation. Final night in hotel before return to Gatwick.
What is not included: alcoholic drinks and equipment hire
Price: £897
Requirements: Applicants should have a minimum of 30 logged dives.
