Travel With Kids - Can you help?

This is a great opportunity for you to share YOUR experience of family travel. Will Gray, an award-winning travel writer, photographer and TV presenter, is requesting your input for his new publication, Travel with Kids, out in October 2007…
Travel With Kids will cover a wonderfully absurd range of destinations and holiday themes, from surfing in Cornwall to making fire with Bushmen in Namibia – a kind of “bucket-and-spade to epic escapade” approach. There will also be all sorts of essential information, anecdotes and top tips on family travel, such as how to change a baby’s nappy at 35,000ft, where to take your kids on safari without worrying about malaria and what kind of picnic 10 euros will get you in France, Slovenia or Italy.The idea is that it becomes a definitive ‘family reference’ on holidays – a bit like you might have a book on family health, feeding children or, in our case, several books on coping with delinquent behaviour. Colour photos throughout, plus lots of pages aimed at the kids themselves (to get them inspired and informed about the places covered) will hopefully make the book good to look at, as well as practical.
Throughout the book Will wants to drop in little snippets and case studies from other people. These could cover any aspect of family travel – whatever comes to mind really – but here’s a list of potential themes:
Your favourite (or worst) family holiday destination, and why
Your best beach/ice-cream/rockpool/fish and chips/theme park ride
Your top tip for a day at Disney
Your vote for the three most family-friendly beaches on the Costas… or ski resorts in the Alps…

The one place you wished you’d taken your kids before they grew up
Quotes from your children, ie “The Pyramids were OK, but I liked our camel best…” or “Mum and Dad get most stressed about…” Even if it’s just a sentence or two on one of these it would be fantastic to hear from you. It’s such a vast subject that I’m really keen to get other people’s viewpoints, and anything you send – ON ANY SUBJECT OF FAMILY TRAVEL – will be very much appreciated! I can’t promise I’ll be able to find space for everything, but I’ll do my best. There may even be scope to include a photo with some of them – particularly where it’s accompanying a quote – so please feel free to email me a holiday snap or two (if you’re happy, of course, for it to be published).
