ICRI Meeting in Tokyo, Japan.

CCC is attending the Third General Meeting of the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI) under the secretariat currently co-hosted by Japan and Palau in conjunction with the UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre. The meeting is being held in Tokyo, Japan between the 22nd and 24th of April 2007. Two of the main topics for discussion are plans for the forthcoming International Year of the Reef (IYOR) in 2008 and activities relating to the connectivity between mangrove and coral reef systems.
CCC is a member of ICRI and CCC’s Marine Science Co-ordinator and ICRI Focal Point, Simon Harding, will attend the meeting to represent the organisation. The International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI) is a partnership among governments, international organizations, and non-government organizations.
