The Waria Valley conservation project team has carried out three full weeks of biodiversity surveys in the area. They have sampled and released nearly fifty bats using mist nets, and caught over sixty herpetiles (reptiles and amphibians) many of which are yet to be identified. They have identified dozens of butterfly species, many unique to Papua New Guinea, and are building up a list of rodents and marsupials.
