CCC Photographer of the Year 2004
Added to website: 30 March 2005
In 2004 CCC ran the photographer of the Year Competition. The competition offered a rare opportunity for volunteers and field staff, both past and present, to demonstrate their photographic skills. The competition prize was a free three-week CCC expedition!
Participants were asked to submit photos into either Marine or Terestrial categories, and photos were further divided into 5 subcategories; Training, Community, Camplife, Landscape and Wildlife.
Response to the competition was excellent, with entrees of a very high standard. Judging the competition was the Founder & Managing Director of CCC and three Directors. We are pleased to announce that Jessica Long, a Volunteer on the Fiji Reef Conservation Project, was selected CCC photographer of the Year 2004.
CCC would like to thank everyone that entered the competition.

Taken during a sunrise on the beach in front of the station when we all went out to wash our morning dishes in the surf.

1. Girl on Swing
Camp was based in the middle of St Helene community; I photographed this girl on an old swing behind the project base.
2. Little girl from the village
This is a child from the village on Malolo island, across the channel from the station, where we went to work with the kids and do reef education programs.
Landscape
1.Patag Waterfalls
Extended view of the Pulang Tubig waterfall in Patag, Negros.
2. Sunset
One of the many stunning sunsets looking from the base on Perhentian Besar over to Perhentian Kecil, with a fishing boat heading home to the village.
Training
1. Blue Marlin
This photo was taken in Jan 2003 of a group of volunteers, as they were about to set out to survey Sogod Bay. The banca is typical of the boats used in the Philippines and has been beautifully maintained by the crew who live and work aboard for days at a time.
2. Rock Wall
Photo was taken on route to sulphur vents - one of the volunteers hanging off a 10m-rock wall.
