The Brief
A fantastic opportunity to write about your unique expedition experience and the chance to win a free three-week expedition to the location of your choice!
Why Enter
- Help raise awareness to the plight of the world’s coral reefs and tropical forests and the important conservation work CCC is doing in Asia, the Pacific and the Caribbean.
- Help inspire potential Volunteers to join CCC expeditions through the sharing of your own experience and feelings.
- A rare opportunity to demonstrate your travel writing skills
- Selected articles will be publicized through the CCC website www.coralcay.org
- Selected quotes will be used extensively in various CCC media material, including Press Packs, brochures and fliers.
- Selected articles will be submitted for use in leading travel, adventure and science magazines, newspapers and websites.
- Selected articles will be entered into a prize draw for a free three-week expedition (the prize includes full board and lodging at a CCC expedition base, full training, use of expedition equipment and free PADI Scuba training if required. The prize does not include the cost of flights, insurance, medical examination fees or personal equipment).
- The Winners’ name and diary extract will appear in CCC’s January 2005 newsletter (Reef and Leaf is a biannual newsletter distributed to 3,000+ national and international supporters).
- The Winners’ name and article will be posted on www.coralcay.org
How to enter
- All entries must be in English.
- Your entry must be no more than 1500 words in length.
- Your name, address, phone number, email address, project name and expedition dates should be provided on the first page of your entry.
- Submissions must be provided in electronic format (by email, on CD or floppy). No other formats will be accepted.
- Visual material to accompany documentation should be provided in electronic format.
- Final electronic submissions must be sent to the Director of Public Relations, by 1 December 2004. Email address: tb@coralcay.org

The Judging Process
Submissions will be judged on their originality, their diversity, and their relationship to the original brief. Queries regarding judging crietria should be emailed to tb@coralcay.org

The winner of the CCC Travel Writer of the Year will be notified in January 2005. If you have not been contacted by the end of this month, you may assume that your entry has been unsuccessful.
