Unsung Heroes of Coral Reefs - Make Your Nomination!
Added to website: 26 October 2007
Jim Hendee (US National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Agency) is planning web presence for the “Unsung Heroes” of conservation & coral reef research in time for the International Year of the Reef in 2008.
The nominees should represent:
1) A group or person that have made a significant contribution to preserving coral reef ecology but have not received the recognition they deserve
2) Significant coral reef areas, from the most remote to the heavily visited in all three oceans
3) Picture It - nominees will be asked to share images of their endeavours, their team and their acheivements
…and be celebrated for their efforts! (whether they like it or not!!)
If you have a person or organisation in mind send your nominations to Jim at the following email address Jim.Hendee@noaa.gov with a paragraph describing why you think they are an Unsung Hero, what their accomplishments are and a photo or two, or links to such photos.
(If its possible to include a note from them stating they would be OK with sharing their photos that would be great).
When you make your nomination please include “Unsung Hero” in the subject heading and lets give these people some recognition!
Many thanks!
