My Fiji Experience by Johann Wilsker, Science Officer

Just a quicky to say hi and thank you for the time you gave me on Dravuni. I’m now back in good old Suva trying to come to terms with reality. These last 4 months have been amazing. I’ve done some of the best diving and had some of the most fulfilling experiences of my life so far, and to top it all off, i’ve shared it with some of the friendliest people.

Dravuni is a special place. I don’t think i’ve been anywhere else in the world where i’ve felt quite so at home from the first weeks after arriving. The village and all of the villagers are some of the kindest, most selfless folks i’ve ever met, and one day I would like to think that I will be back.

Anyway, thanks again for giving me this opportunity to experience what Fiji and its marine conservation is all about. I’ll never forget it - so many stories, and quite easily the best job i’ve ever had.
