BBC Wildlife - Papua New Guinea
Added to website: 14 September 2006
The BBC Wildlife article features on the ‘weird but wonderful’ Papua New Guinea as ‘an intoxicating cocktail of stone age and space age, natural history and human history, biodiversity and cultural diversity’. Papua New Guinea is located in the south-western Pacific Ocean and forms part of the world’s third largest block of unbroken tropical rainforest. The article provides a real insight with beautiful descriptions about the forest wildlife and landscape.
Coral Cay Conservation will undertake the Waria Valley community-based forest conservation project in Papua New Guinea in January 2007. The aim of the project is to initiate the development of alternative sustainable livelihood options within the locally owned forest areas of communities within the Waria Valley. This is coupled with enhanced environmental education and training programmes, contributing to the conservation and sustainable use of their forest resources. An experience of a lifetime…
This is an excellent read especially for those who are about to go on the CCC expedition as a volunteer and for those who are considering it.
