Looking for a marine science course that transforms learning into an exciting and memorable experience? College at Sea is a four week course in marine science that combines the adventure of sailing through the Coral Sea with hands-on research experience. It focuses on learning through involvement in research activities. It was offered for the first time in 2002 and has just completed another successful course this year, with students completing research topics in coral bleaching, phytoplankton and zooplankton dynamics as well as remote sensing. From 2006, the course will be run through the University of Queensland’s School of Geography, Planning and Architecture, and will be supervised by a range of UQ academics, including Dr James Udy, Dr David Neil, and Dr Stuart Phinn. If you want to participate you’ll have to go to www.collegeatsea.org
