New 2006 Expedition Pricing Approach Announced
Added to website: 15 November 2005
Coral Cay Conservation (CCC) today announced its new expedition pricing schedule for 2006.
As a not-for-profit organisation, CCC Volunteer contributions account for over 95% of the funding CCC uses to run its programmes. Effective from the 1st January 2006, the pricing will be defined by project site and will be reflective of the in-country costs of operating at the invitation of, and at no charge to, local project partners. Fees will cover UK briefing sessions, field accommodation, food, BCD’s and Regulator hire (dive trainees), tanks, air, weight belts, expedition & research training and field staff supervision.
Commenting on the announcement, CCC’s Managing Director Richard Surma said: “Our new pricing approach enables us to offer our customers greater flexibility and transparency in their choice of expedition experience, while maintaining our ability to carry on doing the right thing in a commercial world”.
The minimum commitment for Volunteers will be four (4) weeks for both marine and forest expeditions (those wishing to go for less will be required to pay the four week price). A seasonal ‘low’ price will be set for the period September – December inclusive.
In recognition of previous investments made by former volunteers, returning volunteers will be entitled to a 25% reduction on all subsequent expeditions. Commitments of six (6) people or more will also secure a 25% reduction and a free expedition place for the organiser.
In addition to the change in pricing structure, CCC will also be introducing a much refined ‘Fast-Track’ enrolment process which will allow Volunteers to book on within a month of their preferred project start date.
