CCC arrange a Christmas Party at Ampo
Added to website: 28 December 2006
At 1pm the first kids arrived! And then more. And more. And more. We never expected 90 plus but it just made the afternoon more fun. Games laid on for the kids included pass the parcel, musical chairs, lucky dip, splat the rat, coconut shy and throw a wet sponge at the CCC staff! Extra activities included trying out SCUBA gear in a dunk tank, Christmas card making and the chance to meet Santa. The latter proved so popular that the waiting shack buckled under the pressure of stampeding children, requiring a quick relocation of Santa’s Grotto to the beach front. The final activity, Finding Nemo, took just seconds as 70 or so kids combed the garden and beach areas for specially painted coconuts in hope of winning a prize. And then of course, volleyball.
By the time the party was originally due to start the presents and prizes were exhausted, not to mention the CCC staff and vols. Needless to say, everyone enjoyed themselves immensely…
Many thanks to everyone who helped out.
