Coral Cay Conservation (CCC) is seeking one or more part-time volunteers to assist the PR & Communications Coordinator in the design and development of a new website, updating promotional material for our coral reef and tropical forest conservation programmes and for the organisation. This is an ideal post for someone able to volunteer 1-2 days a week to assist a small company at the cutting edge of effective community-based conservation. Ideally, volunteers will be able to base themselves at the CCC offices in London (Waterloo) but working from home is an option.
Whilst there is no remuneration offered, all reasonable travel & other expenses will be met. If you dedicate enough hours over a period of time you can earn yourself a free expedition!
Person specifications
The Intern must:- commit some regular time to assist the PR & Comms Coordinator with designing, building and maintianing a new website
- Specifically be available over the next 2 –3 months
- Have cognitive skills in visual arts and page layout
- Be able to help out /contribute to the designing of logos, brochures, newsletters, posters, and any other type of visual communication.
- Have proficient web skills especially in html (very desirable)
- Knowledge and interest in internet & design
- Organised, proactive, personable and self motivated
- Understanding of international environment and development issues is an advantage but not essential
Key responsibilities include working under the guidance of the PR & Communications Coordinator and help build the new website including design, layout and content, update news section, maintain the photo gallery, update presentations materials and video’s, send e-newsletters and log progress. Researching Internet marketing and advertising opportunities and setting up mutual links with partners.
