CCC's BS8848 standard
Coral Cay Conservation has always aimed to be at the forefront of safety legislation in the expedition world and constantly strives to meet and surpass legal requirements.
As a founder member of the Year Out Group and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office 'Know Before You Go Campaign' CCC has always sought to champion choice and safety on organised overseas activities.
On the 22nd June 2007 CCC was proud to announce that it is one of the first organisations to be self assessed and certified itself to be compliant with BS8848 : Specification for the provisions of visits, fieldwork, expeditions and adventurous activities outside the United Kingdom.
CCC is delighted to be part of the BS8848 standard and will champion its cause as the benchmark standard for the expedition industry to aspire to.
Currently there is little provision for external assessment of the standard but as soon as auditors are available CCC will seek external assessment for the standard.
