Put your dive skills to the test
An opportunity for trained divers (Advanced Open Water minimum) to do their bit! A program which includes training to a standard that allows you collect reefcheck data for their global database.
CCC current is one of the biggest providers of reefcheck data to this crucial database and is looking to increase this provision over the next five years to provide decision makers with the tools to help protect reef environments from human and environmental challenges.
You will find yourself immersed in an absorbing week of science training, practice surveys and checking of your dive skills before being unleashed on the underwater world to collect data in survey teams. Your qualified and experienced Science staff will enthuse you in the underwater world and light that fire in your belly to get out there and do something hands on about the problems the marine world faces. You'll also get to experience the unique style of expedition life and get to meet a wide range of new people.
Meet our longer term volunteers who will be surveying to our own more complex techniques which are used for more complex management plans. At the end of a hard days work, you'll find time to sit on the beach and watch the sun go down with a beer and likeminded individuals.
